All About My Wife

Koreans has a unique way of delivering the message to their audience. They never fail to impress me. The recent korean movie i’ve watched, and one of my favorites now, entitled All about my wife is one of the examples of the many korean heartwarming stories.

It is about a married couple, the husband is somewhat fed up with his wife of 7 years and he wanted a divorce but he couldn’t tell her because he is afraid to hurt her so he hired a man to seduce his wife so that he can be free again. But then it turns out that he ended up appreciating his wife and wants to get her back again. The story, you may think, is a bit common but the way the director presented is the thing which will touch you. I cannot really tell what that something is but it has always been the thing that kept me interested in korean films for so long. It’s the way they captured the sincerity and honesty of things. Mostly their films are melodramatic yet comedic in a way. Like My sassy girl, the classic, and a millionare’s first love. They all have something in common that will make you cry and realize something. It is always fun to watch korean films every once in a while.

Also, there was a line in this film that hit me and it was the line of the husband saying to his wife “ Before I was embarrased by your complainings and I never thought it was because you’re lonely “ which is true, a lonely person observes a lot of things and hates a lot of things thus critizing a lot of things. I know someone like that and I would attest to that line. Though I love that person and I don’t know how to make that person become less lonely and a bit happier, I would do everything and anything that i could to make it happen and make up for him. Thanks to this film that I now know the reason behind his attitude.

One more thing, I also realize that in every relationship there will always be challenges along the way and that it will make the relationship stronger. I know it’s cliche but this film captured that feeling of serenity and being grateful for the love that some of us might be in for the moment and that wish that it may last a few more years.

Although we might thought that we know each other,  we really do not. So keep talking with each other and share a few more things, who knows that may change something for the better. All in all I would give this film a two thumbs up! This one is highly recommended.
